Will it fit? Three checks, 30 seconds
- Your shower arm has an exposed ½-inch BSP thread where the head screws on. That's the Australian standard — almost every wall-mounted shower and slide-rail set.
- There's about 16 cm of clearance below the arm for the filter body: 64 mm wide × 152 mm long, about 450 g.
- Normal mains pressure (100–450 kPa). If your shower already runs weak, a filter won't help it.
Won't suit: ceiling rain heads with no accessible arm thread, or set-ups where the hose exits straight from the tap set with no arm. Head angle wrong after fitting? The $16 swivel adaptor fixes that. How the filtration works
Two different jobs inside the cartridge. 1 — Physical capture: a physical barrier retains particles such as sand, rust flakes and sediment. 2 — Contact with media: reactive surfaces and reducing agents act on dissolved free chlorine as water flows through. Supplier-described media — KDF-55 (copper-zinc), calcium sulphite, coconut activated carbon and vitamin C — each convert free chlorine to chloride, which stays dissolved in the water. Chloramines are different from free chlorine; free-chlorine performance figures do not apply to chloramines.

Installation
About five minutes, by hand. Unscrew your existing shower head, thread the AQVO filter onto the arm, reattach your head and run the water for 60 seconds to flush the new cartridge. The honest bit
A shower filter is a final polishing layer, not a purifier. It targets free chlorine and sediment; it is less effective on chloramine, and we don't make fluoride, PFAS or heavy-metal claims without product-specific testing. I can clearly sense a difference specially the chlorine smell in my shower after adding this filter. I like the design. Looks expensive. I got the gold colour one, to be honest this looks more like rosegold to me but luckily it goes well with my bathroom fittings.
I mainly bought this because it was advertised as being designed by an Australian engineer with experience in the Australian water industry, so I hope that’s true! I’m leaving a review because they sent me an email asking for one, lol. It was much easier to install than I expected, and I chose the black one—it actually looks even better than I thought it would. Very happy with it so far
